Welcome to Playback,
I’m Mandy, the girl behind the headphones. After years of attending music festivals and travelling the country to watch my favourite bands play I wanted to create a one stop music blog which encompasses my absolute love for music. This is a platform for me to show you the up and coming artists popping up in the music scene right now combined with my all time favourite veterans of the industry. Playback gives you the experience of a 19 year old punter combined with other interviews, live shows and information surrounding a list of diverse musical talent.

I still remember my first ever big live concert at the Brisbane Entertainment Festival in 2011 seeing Justin Bieber perform “My World 2.0”. I studied the lyrics to all of his music in my study at home and sang my absolute heart out to songs like “Bigger”, “Stuck in the moment” and most famously “Baby”. In 2014 I discovered the local Brisbane music scene and against mum and dads permission went and saw “The Jungle Giants” play in the Valley one Sunday afternoon. Since then my friends and I have camped at big Australian music festivals “Splendour in the Grass” and “Falls Festival” watching the creme de la creme of both Australian and International artists perform over huge three day long events.

Live music is exciting. The atmosphere of being surrounded by people who know and love your favourite band as much as you is one of the many amazing feelings going to a live gig can bring. I particularly love when bands mix up their most popular songs and play with the sound to perform it a completely different way. Listed below are some of my all time favourite gigs I’ve been too and some in which I hope I’m lucky enough to see perform one day.
